Finally, the day has finally come to an end down here in Germany......
Waking up this morning, and logging on into the internet, and facebook, I was completely bombarded with tons of violent pics and some not peaceful sights of the Bersih rally that happened in Malaysia today. Tear gas, chemical laced water etc was fired upon the citizens. The people in KL acting like complete hooligans and misbehaving themselves, and there were even deaths and accidents! Made me rather sad, and worried as I was going to go for the rally here in Berlin.
However, with hubby babysitting my little girl - right on time too, I made my way to the meeting place at 1pm, only reaching the destination at 2pm.
The crowd wasn´t big. Most of them kinda more worried to turn up, especially the scholarship students of the government. Apparently, they too, were threatened by the wonderful Malaysian government that should they partake into any such activities, their scholarships will be revoked. Not only here in Germany, but reading the news, you also hear about the government threatening the students in Australia and other places. Now makes me kinda wonder...... did these students get their scholarship from Barisan National / Umno or from the government of Malaysia? Because, logically speaking, this is not a riot whatsoever, this is asking for the betterment of the country.
The country and government consists of citizens, without the citizens, you won´t have a government.
Nevertheless, the rally here in Germany turned out ok. We had chitchats, chance to meet each other, get to know each other and such, other than shouting out "We want free and fair election" and Stop Lynas.....
For me, it was a great time. I get to meet fellow Malaysians after 1 year of not meeting Malaysians at all. :) Although doesn´t help that I still miss the food greatly. Somehow it felt like home being back there with my family.... although... it´s not quite.
Sincerely, after all the rallies, and the deaths - apparently there was deaths in KL´s Bersih Rally, I seriously hope that the Malaysian government will somehow know what is best to do.
Listen to the voices of her citizens.........
