In an episode of Downtown Abbey (a historical English drama), beloved housemaid Anna Bates is brutally raped. It was heart-wrenching to watch her try to keep it a secret. The head housekeeper, Mrs Hughes, found Anna shortly after the assault - bruised, crying and hiding in a corner. Despite the strong urgings of Mrs. Hughes, Anna told her to tell no one, not even her husband. She was not only afraid he would kill her assailant, but she also felt "dirty" and believed the attack was somehow her fault.

Anna´s feelings and silence are typical and understandable in victims of sexual assault. The shame that victims feel - though undeserved - is beyond words.

The Bible also contains a disturbing story of sexual assault. Tamar, King David´s virgin daughter, was raped by her half brother Amnon (2 Samuel 13:1-20). But rather than hide what happened, Tamar grieved openly (vv. 18-19). Two years after the assault another of Tamar´s brothers sought revenge. Absalom killed Amnon, throwing King David´s family and kingdom into chaos (vv. 23-28).

Some might argue that the royal family's upheaval could have been averted if Tamar had simply kept quiet. NO! Family bitterness and division grew because Amnon acted selfishly and wouldn´t take responsibility for violating Tamar.

To those who are victims of sexual assault or any form of abuse, please know that it is not your fault! Nor is it God´s desire for you to carry life´s heaviest burdens alone (Galatians 6:2). What´s often worse than the violation(s) itself is a lifetime of suffering alone in the darkness. If you´ve been abused or are the victi of someone else´s selfishness, tell a person who can help you. You can discover that what is shareable slowly becomes more bearable. - Jeff Olson

2 Samuel 13:1-20

In the course of time, Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David. Amnon became frustrated to the point of illness on account of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed impossible for him to do anything to her.

Now Amnon had a friend named Jonadab son of Shimeah, David´s brother Jonadab was a very shrewd man. He asked Amnon, "Why do you, the king´s son, look so haggard morning after morning? Won´t you tell me?"

Amnon said to him, "I´m in love with Tamar, my brother Absalom´s sister."

"Go to bed and pretend to be ill," Jonadab said. "When your father comes to see you, say to him, 'I would like my sister Tamar to come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare the food in my sight so I may watch her and then eat it from her hand.' "

So Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill. When the king came to see him, Amnon said to him, "I would like my sister Tamar to come and make some special bread in my sight, so I may eat from her hand."

David sent word to Tamar at the palace : "Go to the house of your brother Amnon and prepare some food for him." So Tamar went to the house of her brother Amnon, who was lying down. She took some dough, kneaded it, made the bread in his sight and baked it. Then she took the pan and served him the bread, but he refused to eat.

"Send everyone out of here," Amnon said. So everyone left him. Then Amnon said to Tamar, "Bring the food here into my bedroom so I may eat from your hand." And Tamar took the bread she had prepared and brought it to her brother Amnon in his bedroom. But when she took it to him to eat, he grabbed her and said, "Come to bed with me, my sister."

"Don´t, my brother!" she said to him. "Don´t force me. Such a thing should not be done in Israel! Don´t do this wicked thing. What about me? Where could I get rid of my disgrace? And what about you? You would be like one of the wicked fools in Israel. Please speak to the king; he will not keep me from being married to you."

But he refused to listen to her, and since he was stronger than she, he raped her.

Then Amnon hated her with intense hatred. In fact, he hated her more than he had loved her. Amnon said to her, "Get up and get out!"

"No!" She said to him. "Sending me away would be a greater wrong than what you have already done to me."

But he refused to listen to her. He called his personal servant and said, "Get this woman out of here and bolt the door after her." So his servant put her out and bolted the door after her. She was wearing a richly ornamented robe, for this was the kind of garment the virgin daughters of the king wore. Tamar put ashes on her head and tore the ornamented robe she was wearing. She put her hand on her head and went away, weeping aloud as she went.

Her brother Absalom said to her, "Has that Amnon, your brother, been with you? Be quiet now, my sister; he is your brother. Don´t take this thing to heart." And Tamar lived in her brother Absalom´s house, a desolate woman.

Cuties attract paedophiles

Paedophiles...... Paedophiles are people (or "criminals") that are sexually attracted to children *simpler definition* or you can look up Wikipedia = Paedophiles (clickable link) to have a better and longer definition. Many children aren´t safe with Paedophiles exisitng, especially when you can´t tell who is who from the looks on their faces.

I found this interesting article from FMT (Free Malaysia Today) online webportal about these criminals. Apparently the "researchers" are at the moment blaming the "existence" of Facebook and how kids nowadays are using facebook to post their photos. Then..... I wonder........ how the hell did these criminals get their victims long time ago, before the era of Facebook or any of these social media networks?!

But then again..... just something to spend your time reading... which in my opinion, is slightly ridiculous reading especially when they are only blaming facebook.... Nevertheless, happy reading!

Regardless of gender, children who pose in Facebook are prone to be attacked by paedophiles.

KUALA LUMPUR: Children who put on a cute face and affectionate pose on social networking sites such as Facebook can invite paedophiles.

A psychologist with the Educational Psychology and Counselling Department of the Universiti Malaya, Prof Madya Dr Mariani Mohd Nor said many children under 13 years of age now owned Facebook accounts and enjoyed downloading their pictures in various poses without realising that they could be observed by paedophiles.

“Even the facial mimic, lip style, camera-looking style can also spur paedophiles.

“Not only girls, but boys with a cute face are also prone to attacks by paedophiles,” she said.

People suffering from paedophilia have a tendency for sex crimes against children and these people usually act brutally against the victims in order to achieve satisfaction.

Dr Mariani said most of the children were now also seen to competing among their peers to gain popularity by downloading a lot of pictures to get the highest ‘like’ ratings.

“They (boys and girls) want to be popular. Apart from the Facebook, there is also rivalry in the YouTube by downloading photos and videos to get the highest hits. While all this is done to gain popularity it is also affecting their personal safety,” she said.

She added that the paedophilia threat was always present especially in the borderless world of information technology that allowed the people to look for their victims through the internet, so continuous monitoring by parents was important.

Meanwhile, Head of Strategic Communications of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Sheikh Raffie Abd Rahman said the easy Facebook access enabled many children to falsify their age to gain entry.

“This is where parents need to monitor their children, especially on the use of social websites and make sure they do not interact with strangers in cyberspace,” he said.

He said the commission strived to implement education and awareness programmes on the safe use of the internet to curb its abuse that could invite a variety of threats including paedophilia.

Until now, in Malaysia no cases of peodophilia had been recorded although a few cases involving rape and murder of children had been reported.

”Paedophilia patients are categorised as those who commit acts of rape on children several times, but if they only commit the crime once, it is not categorised as paedophilia,” said Investigation Division of Sexual, Abuse and Children (D11) Assistant Director ACP Hamidah Yunos.

Just because you can´t control your hormons, you can´t control your stupid "dick"...... you destroyed her.... and worse... KILLED her with your stupidity. New Delhi (CNN) -- A week after the news of a child rape sparked protests in India, hospital officials confirmed the rape of another girl.

The 4-year-old died Monday from cardiac arrest at Care Hospital in Nagpur, India, a spokesman said. A 35-year-old man has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting the girl, said Mithilesh Shukla, superintendent of police.

It is the latest in a number of assaults that caused outrage and raised questions about how women and girls are treated in India.

The girl was allegedly abducted from Ghansaur, a small town in central India, on April 17, and her family found her the next day, unconscious and with severe head injuries, Shukla said.

She was airlifted to the hospital in Nagpur and put on a ventilator but did not survive.

"The doctors tried very hard but were not successful," hospital spokesman P.S. Shriram said.

Last week, two arrests were made in the case of another victim, a 5-year-old girl who was raped in New Delhi.

The assaults on the girls came just four months after a 23-year-old physiotherapy student was gang-raped in a bus in New Delhi, setting off furious protests in India. She later died at a Singapore hospital.

After the attacks, the country's news media turned their attention to some of the thousands of rape cases reported in the nation each year.

In a recent report, the Asian Center for Human Rights cited statistics that it said showed 48,338 child rape cases were reported in India between 2001 and 2011. The report said the number of cases rose from 2,113 in 2001 to 7,112 in 2011.

A depressed Merdeka — Are you celebrating Merdeka?

Merdeka, or also known as the Independence day of Malaysia, is coming up in just 24 hours. But how would you celebrate Malaysia´s 55th year of Independence this year? It´s been almost 2 years now since the migration abroad and the tapping on the on going news from all the international and also local news portals to see on the ongoing of Malaysia. And sadly to say, I am not very happy or proud about my birth country anymore, especially seeing all the stupidity and the pain the citizens and also my family indirectly goes thru back home.

From the politicals fights the country is having - the "outstanding" ruling of BN all these years and the downfall of it (hopefully soon so that the country can undergo a better change), to the 2 sexual cases that was released because they were national bowlers and first time offenders (Rapists freed by courts match medical definition of paedophiles, Children’s welfare ignored by keeping rapists out of jail, says child specialist, - and many others which can be sourced out from the internet or the Malaysian Insider webpage), and many other unbelievable disastrous happenings in the past year, I would say that Malaysia sure is making one hell of a change. A change to show people that it is not progressing but moving backwards, that they don´t believe in protecting the citizens but merely putting their attention on people who have the money or the people who are doing the country good (national bowlers only ma... not even freaking international bowlers). 

Today, on the eve of Merdeka day, I would like to share this little article I extracted out from the Malaysian Insider news portal once again. Time to think and ponder on the country and...... finally stand up to make a change.

A depressed Merdeka — Are you celebrating Merdeka?

Seeing a headline shouting “Putrajaya offers cash rewards to N-Day event participation” does not encourage patriotism. It does not help that this year, just like the past few years, the atmosphere is muted. 

Very few Malaysians are in the mood to celebrate Malaysia’s 55th year of Independence, and that is a truly sorry state for the country to be.

There are many factors related to this. A declining economy, rising costs of living, gutter politics, crime, and there is also a general air of hopelessness among Malaysians when asked if they were looking forward to August 31, 2012.

If one is to believe the noise on social media, and in forums, it would seem that Malaysians hate their country. There seems to be nothing positive about the country, and every effort the government puts, is met with ridicule.

What does the average Malaysian think about this year’s Merdeka celebrations?

CS Tan of Terengganu finds that this year theme is a joke. “I ‘created’ a few phases to my Merdeka celebration. From primary to secondary school Merdeka was about how we managed to be independent, govern our country on our own terms, instead of being under British rule, and of course the colourful floats we saw on television. Tertiary – it’s about holidays. Young working life – it’s about holidays plus those outrageous uniforms from TNB and Telekom and other Malaysian companies we had to wear. Middle age phase – Merdeka is about able to think of myself after years of believing that the government can’t do wrong. This year – it’s about Merdeka from crime in Malaysia. Not optimistic huh?”

The 1Malaysia Merdeka logo provoked such outcry and ridicule, one can only feel sorry for the government. “I’m sure that our Government had the best of intentions when they commissioned the design …” a rather diplomatic professional who did not want to be named said.

Oso-San Anna disagrees. A Communications professional, she has worked in advertising agencies and in-house communications departments. She understands design and branding – she lives and breathes them. “Firstly, for something as important as Merdeka, the Government should leave it to the pros. I mean real pros (and not some crony’s son) who has a solid understanding of the use of symbol and colour and collective expression of national pride.”

“Secondly, branding is powerful when built and layered over time with consistency and commitment.”

“Thirdly, where are the brand values? Both from the standpoint of the creator and the people it’s meant for? Is there buy-in from the Rakyat? I feel all 3 are missing in the 1Malaysia logo that was designed. We are 55 years old as a Nation. Sure it’s national pride but the meaning of real patriotism is already lost since it’s seldom practiced in soul & spirit,” she said.

Angelia Ong, who works in animation is saddened by recent celebrations. The idea of Merdeka has somehow lost its spirit, she says. “It used to be more alive and less about polishing the achievements of a particular political coalition. It used to come across as more inclusive and meaningful. The phrase “1Malaysia” has taken over so much, my youngest had one time thought our country was called 1Malaysia, rather than Malaysia. From a branding point of view, I guess they have succeeded in ensuring that it’s everywhere and anywhere, to the point of oversaturation.”

From a Malaysian’s point of view (on what she thought of the logo), “it was just a major facepalm moment.”

On Facebook, one lone friend is spotted asking on his status update, “Where can I get a Malaysian flag? I want to hang it from my balcony.” Very few of his friends responded to the query.

No Money, No Merdeka Honey

Malaysians at this moment can’t be bothered about politics. They’re concerned about GE, but right at the top of their heads is how to make a living in Malaysia. If corporate professionals turn to multi-level marketing as a side-income, and journalists to tuition and freelance writing to make up for their pay, what about the average Malaysian?

This year’s Ramadan revealed the rising cost of food. A pitiful currypuff is now 50 sen, when it used to be RM1 for three currypuffs. And it seems that it is the same everywhere, from Bangsar to Keramat. Maggi Mee, a staple for Malaysians, has gone up, and a cup of very sweet Milo at a small mamak-like café at Giant Kota Damansara now cost RM4. Could this be why crime is rampant?

Tania Leong, who runs a new age shop, is not confident of our economy. “Everyone I know who owns a business, has reported a decrease in revenue. Even my customers share a same complaint of their businesses, be it property, legal (clients unable to pay), travel agency, health spas, dvd shops, children's play facilities, restaurants etc. Sungai Wang Plaza in the city has always been golden hot property (probably one of the top 5 most expensive per sq.ft.), and even that is suffering.”

“What I have observed is that this country is lacking qualified personnel in many areas of work from a sale assistant to corporate positions, a low standard of education system, many government workers are slow, inefficient and clueless, there is no minimum wage, corruption appears to be the norm in our judicial, police & government departments, religion has been made into law, sex education in schools are non-existent or minimal and so we have children bearing children. Crime rates seemed to have soared the last couple of years.”

“If leaving the country was an option for me, I would leave in a heartbeat.”

Hani B works in retail and has first-hand experiences with customer spending. Her customers range from the wealthy Middle Easterners to young college students, and understands their buying habits. “I used to be confident that our economy can weather most adversities, now I get totally scared when reading that our national debt amounted to 257 billion in 2011 … yikes!!

When I google about our economy, the results go on and on about how much it's growing bla bla bla but retail wise, I just don't see it and my salary certainly doesn't reflect it.”

Like Tania, she notes that skilled workers are lacking. “I read that our country is among the top 20 nations to be labelled as losers of capital flight ... that is RM893 billion(!) siphoned out between 1970 and 2010, so why should we stay back and help with the improvement of wealth to the 1 per cent? Then again, what do I know, I'm just a shopgirl.”

At the many open houses around the capital, the Malaysians asked, professed to forgetting that Merdeka was around the corner. This year is bad, they said, and their open houses reflect that.

Open houses are celebrated on a smaller scale now.

Yet, there is still some cheer, among bankers and human resource professionals. An expatriate investment banker based in Kuala Lumpur is enthusiastic about life in Malaysia. “The wealthy Europeans and Australians are now heading to Asia for the quality of life it offers. Now, certain Asian countries like Hong Kong are a no-no for expats, because of its spiralling cost of living. While Malaysia has the infrastructure, it has to beat Thailand and Indonesia – these two countries reinvent themselves, to meet with contemporary demands.” Malaysia has the potential to be the top 20 countries in the world, but the numbers are teetering. He concedes that corruption happens everywhere – Malaysia is not unusual. “What Malaysia needs now is good managers of its wealth and resources.”

EK Cheah, Managing Partner, Aspac Executive Search, observes that looking at the economy from a broad point of view there are a few scenarios playing out. They are “… On one hand, Europe is on a downward trend, China is slowing down and the US is stagnating. This implies that Malaysia which is largely export-dependent will be impacted. Even on the commodities front, palm oil, prices are down due to oversupply.”

Growth is however present, due to the various government initiatives, e.g. ETP. From a HR view, he says, there will be hiring, but there is definitely a big gap in talent. Two factors contributing to this are Malaysians emigrating and basically greater job mobility due to globalisation.

So is there enough talent at the high-end/professionals level? “No, and this has been the case for many years and will continue to be the case for many years to come. As for TalentCorp – Why have they shifted their focus from getting Malaysians back to also attracting expats? (https://www.expats.com.my/rp/new/html/) They should be focusing on getting Malaysians back and on top of that also help correct the fundamentals that would be required to retain Malaysian talents over the long term.”

As for the Malaysian economy, he is confident it will still grow 4-5 per cent a year over the next 2-3 years but much still depends on the socio-economical situation.

Judging by the responses, it could well be a quiet Merdeka for many.

Finally... after days of being down.... the website to The Star Online newspaper is finally up.... and most interestingly... the first headlines of the day that caught my eye.... a poor girl who has been raped by her stepfather since the age of 11...... and for 15 years long he has been raping and abusing that poor girl repeatedly... and no action was taken even after being reported... 

Sometimes I just can´t help but wonder on the safeness of being in Malaysia.... well.. I know it´s a free from War and such country compared to the western world, we are kinda "secluded" in our own strange way and definitely outdated compared to the whole world.... but..... we can´t keep our future generations safe from such morons, such monsters......

Raped by stepdad for 15 years

KUALA LUMPUR: After seven abortions and being raped repeatedly by her stepfather since she was a child, a 28-year-old woman fled her home in Kedah.

The victim, who wished to be known only as Zt, said she became her stepfather's sex slave after he first raped her when she was only 11-years-old.

“My mother had no idea of what was happening all these years.

“She only knew when I revealed everything before leaving the house,” she said, adding that her stepfather forbade her to mingle with other people.

“He raped me at our house, in the jungle or at his rented house after fetching me from school,” she told reporters at the office of MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong here yesterday.

She was accompanied by Umno Youth community complaints bureau head Datuk Muhammad Khairun Aseh.

Still afraid, Zt refused to disclose where she had sought refuge nor divulge her full identity.

Zt said she feared her 58-year-old stepfather would come looking for her.

She had lodged a police report in Penang against the man after running away in December 2008.

“The case was transferred to Kedah but no action was taken against my stepfather,” she claimed.

“He used to threaten me, saying no action could be taken against him as he has friends in the police force,” Zt said, adding that the man would beat her up if she refused his request for sex.

She had had enough after almost 15 years of torture and brutality.

Chong said his department had enough evidence to hand over to Bukit Aman to nab the suspect.

Kindergarten co-owner who raped 4-year-old girl gets 20 years jail

GEORGE TOWN: A Sessions Court here sentenced a 48-year-old kindergarten director to 20 years in jail and to be whipped 10 times for raping a 4-year-old girl at his kindergarten in 2008.

Judge Sitarun Nisa Abdul Aziz found Ewe Peng Lip guilty of rape, saying that his defence was a bare denial and had failed to raise any reasonable doubt against the prosecution's case.

Ewe was tried for raping the girl, who is now seven, at the kindergarten in Bukit Dumbar here between 8.10am and noon on a day between January and April in 2008.

The offence under Section 376(2)(e) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between five and 30 years, and whipping.

In asking for a light sentence, Ewe's counsel Datuk C.V. Prabhakaran said Ewe was a first offender, was married with three children, and was assisting his wife to run the kindergarten.

DPP Tan Guat Cheng pressed for a deterrent sentence in the interest of the public, saying that Ewe had taken advantage of the victim who was only four and was attending the kindergarten run by him and his wife.

“The victim suffered from trauma, and was still scared when she was giving her testimony. The court should not compromise when it comes to rape cases, especially statutory rape where the victim was only four,” she said.

After Sitarun Nisa pronounced the sentence, Prabhakaran sought stay of execution pending appeal to the High Court.

Sitarun Nisa granted the application for stay but increased Ewe's RM10,000 bail to RM20,000 in one surety.

Ewe was also represented by counsel Moke Yee Yow and Low Meng Chua, while the Women's Centre for Change (WCC) legal officer Karen Lai held a watching brief for the victim and her family.

After the court adjourned, a squabble broke out when Ewe's wife and sister tried to stop cameramen from taking pictures of Ewe.

There was pushing and shoving, and a shouting match which lasted nearly half an hour from Level 7 of the Bangunan Sri Pinang, where the courtroom is located, to the ground floor of the court premises.

Insanity of Men

Its lunch time now, as I sat at the receptionist table for the sit in duty of the receptionist whilst she eats lunch., I was browsing through The Star online today and am very sick to the core of reading the rape cases that are happening around here nowadays and nothing is being done about it. Innocent ladies are being the victims here, ruining their lives forever...... don't men have any feelings of sympathy? To destroy a young girl's life?

Reading the news, decided to share these two articles with you all....... is there no way for our own people to stand up and fight and curb these problems instead of just jailing them for a couple of years and they get to walk free?

Girl raped after being sprayed with liquid
A 19-YEAR-OLD girl was raped by a man who sprayed her with a liquid, causing her to fall off her motorcycle and break her arm, reported Harian Metro.

In the 1.45am incident on Monday, the teenager was riding pillion on the motorcycle driven by her friend near Jalan Pasir Pedamar in Teluk Intan when another motorcyclist drew up beside them, brandishing a spray can.


The man sprayed them with liquid from the can, causing the friend to lose control of the motorcycle.


The girl, who was on her way home after helping her mother at her coffeeshop, broke her left arm in the accident, which also saw her friend suffering injuries to the body and leg.

Hilir Perak OCPD Supt Mohd Zaki Harun said the man then stopped near the girl but instead of helping her, began to molest her.

He also threatened to hurt her with his helmet if she tried to fight back.

“Ignoring her cries of pain, the man then took her to a nearby public toilet and raped her,” he said.


The girl walked home after the incident.

Teen rapes orphan in classroom

PETALING JAYA: The school became a place of horror for a 14-year-old orphan when she was raped by a classmate during recess at a secondary school in Rawang.


The 3.30pm incident occurred last Tuesday when the Form Two student was alone in her classroom during recess time.

The victim, a quiet teenager, did not report the rape to anyone at first. But, after nearly a week, she found the courage to inform a counsellor from her orphanage before lodging a police report on Monday.

The student has been living at the orphanage since she was nine.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the assailant was detained at the school several hours after the report was lodged.

“The girl has been sent to the Sela-yang Hospital for a medical checkup,” he said, adding that the boy had been remanded until April 26, to facilititate investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.


Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said the district education department was helping with the investigation.
