I wonder why Malaysian Police can´t "function" properly.....

I found this seriously interesting.... well it ain´t an article, sort of... I found it on Marina Mahathir´s facebook - something that she shared in her facebook.

And.... after watching the video - which surprisingly you don´t find it in CNN or such, I was wondering.... how is it that the German police can behave so civilized and well mannered and even to the extend of walking together with the protestors on the streets of Frankfurt, but yet the Malaysian Police aren´t capable of doing anything except firing their damn tear gas and water cannons at the public and then have the cheek to say that the protestors started it, and later on continue suing everyone within suing range?!

Are you, Malaysian government, trying to tell everyone, that the Malaysian authorities and police are hooligans and the rest of the world are human? Or..... you trying to tell everyone that the Malaysian government are the victims and the world is judging you harshly?

Some things to ponder about.....

Make sure, if you are a Malaysian reader, to make your vote count in the next General Election of your country. Unless you want to be "slaves" under the current government for another 5 years........

You wont see this on CNN!

BREAKING NEWS: From Occupy Frankfurt. May 19, 2012.
The German police took off their helmets and marched with the protest clearing the way for them.

German police officers escort an anti-capitalism protest march with some 20,000 people in Frankfurt, Germany, Saturday, May 19, 2012. Protesters peacefully filled the city center of continental Europe's biggest financial hub in their protest against the dominance of banks and what they perceive to be untamed capitalism, Frankfurt police spokesman Ruediger Regis said. The protest group calling itself Blockupy has called for blocking the access to the European Central Bank, which is located in Frankfurt's business district. (AP Photo/Michael Probst)

Bersih Rally 3.0

So, after the Bersih Rally in July last year and I guess, the government not taking much action and trying to "delay" or "divert" things, there will be another rally - known as Bersih 3.0 - this coming weekend 28th April 2012, Saturday. Apparently, this time around, it´s not only in KL but nationwide and globally.

This time around, every Malaysian from every corner of the world is actually taking part in it....

There will be one also in Berlin, Germany this coming Saturday. Hubby was really supportive about it, told me that I should just go and show support but stay out of trouble... lolx.... well... he was cheeky when he said, worse is I have to call him and ask him to "bail" me out and that the police will not let me leave the house for a week or so..... -.- And.... worse.... he said if this happens, he is hell of sure gonna die laughing and gonna post it in facebook in every single language he knows *groans* He sure can be a pain huh? Lolx....

Anyways, I guess I will be attending my first Malaysian rally together with a whole bunch of Malaysians right here in the heart of our newfound home. Hubby will be babysitting, as I don´t want Amelia exposed in such things, let alone be in the middle of it if things turn ugly. Looking forward to it in a way and in a way not......

Oh well.... lets get on with it.

Malaysian Government should really OPEN their GOD FORSAKEN EYES and do something about it and not just all talk. Empty vessels makes the most noise, but I doubt there will be improvement on it.

Spring Time

It´s been some time since I last blogged in here.

Much has passed and now we are back to our so called normal life now.

Easter break was indeed extremely fantastic and funfulled.... We spent our 1 week - or more accurately, 5 days - in Tönning, staying together with hubby´s best buddy there. Tönning is located in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. A small costal town with a population of approximately 5000 residents, the place is extremely beautiful, with the North Sea just around it.

Although I have to say that Easter´s weather wasn´t all that nice and friendly - was mostly cloudy and rainy during the 5 days we were there, if not its Sunny and bloody cold, but we managed to tour around abit and see a few nice sights (Photos are still in uploading progress.... ^^). Thomas, our host for the wonderful holiday we had, took us around and even arranged a very extremely special traditional Easter Egg hunt for my little girl to experience on Easter day. ^^ The folks there, as the entire Tönning is so small, seems to know each other altogether - hence the greetings at almost every corner :) They too are wonderfully friendly, which can be quite rare. =)

Thankfully, Easter day was a nice and sunny day, although the temperature wise ain´t that nice. Was quite chilly. But sunny that we could organize the Egg Hunt for Amelia in the backyard of Thomas´ place. And my baby........ she was fascinated. Being adviced by someone that Easter is about hunting chocolate candies that was hidden all over the garden, my daughter was extremely fascinated to be having 6 nicely hand colored Easter eggs, which was painted and done by friends of Thomas (Thank you Thomas..... so very much!). She even enjoyed eating them alot! ;)

But anyways, that was Easter. Been back home for almost 2 weeks now.

Spring is kinda like almost in full swing now. The flowers are starting to bloom everywhere, trees are turning green and the leaves gradually growing. Although temperature wise, it ain´t that stable yet, falling and rising but never above 10° for long. The day may be extremely sunny..... but yet, the heat of the sun is not yet able to be felt! So....... wearing still thick jackets and the occasional scarf to protect the neck from catching a cold and ending up in a sore throat, we brace the streets of Berlin daily.

My classes just started back once again this week, 16th of April, and actual fact, this is my last week of class and I will be off for good, till the finals are here - which will be held on the 12th of May (One week before turning 30!)

Yea.... another *OMG* factor.

I can´t believe it....... but this year, I am gonna welcome myself to the 3 club...... Turning 30 this year. Feels old you know.... xD Lolx... actually, I feel old looking at Amelia growing up. Somehow, seeing your daughter growing up, kinda makes you feel old. Don´t know bout you.... but that´s how I feel sometimes.... although I am and will always admit, still extremely young at heart! *muahahahahahah* Afterall, it isn´t every day your child turns 5...... somehow, I feel time moving so fast.... How I wish time can just slow down just a bit so that I can enjoy time more with my little girl, who is growing up so fast into a beautiful young lady :)

My beautiful little lady *Proud mummy*
*Sighs*..........

Spring time........

The time to be joyful, gayful, singing and happiness with all the wonderful nature.

With Spring, came my daughter and my father´s birthday (both in March, side by side), then in April, My mother is turning 60 (and sadly, I won´t be around to participate in her big celebration of turning 60) - and ironically, my Mother in Law is also turning 60 (But in July), then in May - Myself turning 30 (Oh yea..... the BIG 3 O... lolx), and a few other friends that happens to be far away from my grasp at the moment.

Lolx, not forgetting my finals - One week (exactly one week!) before my birthday.

I will have more to think and ponder on later.......... Like.... should I continue on to the higher levels of my German Language? Or just stop at where the government requires of me? Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

Guess I will think while I sleep and doze off to Dreamland.....
Another day has just gone by... *omg* How time flies.

Tomorrow another brand new and busy day. Especially to the Post Office.....

13th March 2012 - The Scary Day

And so, the day finally approached. The scary day of my daughter´s life. The day where she had to go to the dentist to do a "major" operation - for her age that is..... to replace 11 out of her 20 teeth she has...

Now, I know many of you readers, upon reading that said statement above will be thinking... WTF?! at the age of 4 and 11 out of her 20 teeth she is having needs to be replaced and repaired? How the F did that happened? Did the mother give her too many sweets or something? Well, then let me explain to you. Amelia had caries on her teeth, most of it. And this does not come out from pure eating chocolates, sweets or improper brushing or even not brushing her teeth at all.

Mind you, she brushes every day, morning before going to school and after every meal she has in a day and also before going to bed. I really meant it when I said people here are kinda "health freaks" for a reason.... but anyways, no side tracking...... she was taught like this from the day she started going to Kindergarten last year. Initially, like every - ok, majority - people do, she brushes twice. Once, in the morning after waking up and then the last will be before going to bed at night. However, this changed after attending kindergarten and the teacher actually taught her brushing her teeth, and also when to do so. Hence, she does it every time she eats. Normally on weekdays its only twice - when she wakes up in the morning and night before going to bed. The rest of the times, she brushes in school when the teacher brings them to eat.

Anyways, bout a month ago, the health ministry came to do an inspection in the kindergarten - yea, they have health people coming to check the kids in all the schools and kindergartens once every 6 months. And well... the dentist came and checked her and we have a nice "love letter" recommending us to go to the dentist - which we were about to go as she needed the doctor´s recommendation letter to go to Pre School this year in August (Yea, here they have to do medical and dental check up every time before going to school No letter of recommendation / letter of approval from the doctor, the kid can´t go). So our trip was "fast forwarded" thanks to this letter.

She has caries. Dental Caries is something which is not only caused by eating too much candy sweets and not brushing teeth. If you actually read it up, it has many causes including dental hygiene and many other tiny problems. ** Being a parent sure ain´t easy... every time I need to do alot of research on behalf of my daughter ** So, we brought her to the Kids Dentist (Kids and Adults have their separate doctors, normally rarely you can go to the same one for adult and kid), which was about 1/2 hr away from our home... that was the nearest. The dentists there, not only they were friendly, they actually know how to do their job in calming the kid and persuading them to open their mouth to let them check. And.... most interesting part of all.... they actually have a TV hanging from the ceiling for the patient to be able to watch CARTOONS while being checked by the dentist!!!!

Lolx..... Super cool technology man! xD

Checked she was.... and even had the diagram of her teeth on which is rotten and not. And.... with our nod of the heads, we got ourselves booked for the earliest operation a month later - March 13th. Talk about high tech and fast! ** I doubt I will ever get used to the speed they actually do things here! Compared to Malaysia´s style!**

Operation day.... Today!

Had to wake up at 530am, her last meal must be before 6am, and making her eat breakfast.... guess today must be the most best day for her... being able to watch TV at 6am in the morning till 9am (couldn´t afford to have her fall asleep again and not wake up). Our operation time was even brought forward - and told last minute (definitely not appreciated, as from our home to the Operation hospital is a whole 1 hour and slightly more train ride!) at 9am to be exact!

But arriving at the operation room at 1030am, Amelia´s courage was slowly failing her. Hubby was great, actually purposely took a day off from work to accompany her there - upon her request - and was encouraging her and telling her that she can do it.... even when changing her operation gown, she was nearly in tears, but....... we managed to make her smile, and..... also took a few photos together =)

The painful part, for me that is, was when I walked her into the operation theatre and when they wanted her to lie on the bed... all hell broke loose!

You know, being a mother isn´t easy..... I don´t know how some mothers can don´t cry and have no feelings whatsoever when their kids are in the operation theatre etc, but.... every time my baby gets sick and even when going for her immunisation jabs, when she cries, I cry. I don´t like my baby in pain. I don´t like my baby being hurt.... be it physically or emotionally.

But eventually, as the narcosis works its wonders, she fell asleep, and I had to leave the room.

Her operation was 2 hours long, but after operation, she slept and was kept there till 3pm. Her teeth now are all shining white. She has 4 teeth replaced with nice metal crowns. Brushing teeth now is a harder task as first we need to polish those nice metal pieces in her mouth (lucky not gold ones also :-s) and then also to take care of all the other teeth that was cleaned (seriously not even 1 stain of black in her mouth at all anymore).

So my baby´s teeth is all cleared and taken care of, rest assured for those of you who knows bout it and is worried sick bout it.

Technology here is indeed advance. Somehow, I seriously don´t understand why people back in Malaysia makes a fuss hearing she is going for Ops or doc...... Hell, they don´t bombard us with medications or rubbish the way docs back in Malaysia do. Here, even if you go to the doc with a minor cold and such, you don´t get medication for it..... for them, curing naturally is the best way of cure instead of medication! Well, for people like us, who came from a background and growing up knowing every little thing there is a medication for it... it may not sound right. But, after being here for 1 year, and encountering all the weather changes and the usual sickness that accompanies the various weather change, I can say Amelia is slightly more better off than how she was in Malaysia!

The doctors only gives medication when you are seriously critically ill. If not, there is no need to.

But, for my fellow family and etc, yes, we do have a mini medication cupboard - and its still growing - of medication not only for the adults but also for Amelia. So, the next time if you webcam with us or talk to anyone of us.... and you see Amelia sniffling, please don´t blow your top. We are more worried bout you than you are. And Amelia knows... I will not let anything happen to her.

Though I find the thought hubby always sleeping in the couch when Amelia is sick - so she can sleep with me in the big bed - very heartwarming..... His concerns, love and care over her is greatly shown in vast measures.

November 2011

The time has indeed passed. It´s already mid of November, and Autumn is now getting colder and colder, days are gloomier as day goes by. Gloomier and colder. However, nature seems to be even more splendid during the Autumn season, despite the tragic cold that is getting colder and colder as day goes by.

I can´t say that November is indeed a splendid month. Reason is I have been completely and very sick since beginning of November and am still sick. Have been out of school and not attending classes for 2 weeks now. Got attacked with a very severe headache. Initially I thought it was just an ordinary headache, which after a while I thought was a migraine but the pain grew worse. Ended up doing a CT Scan and blood test, which thankfully tested out negative for any cancerous things in my brains. Then, we thought it was the increase of power in my eyes.... so a trip to the optician and 200 euro down the drain for new glasses for both me and hubby, but yet the pain is still there. So now, all the doctor say is, try to get on like normal with life, if pain is unbearable, get the medication and if it gets worse, the next trip will be to the neurologist! *sighs* Happy Autumn for me huh?

Amelia is enjoying the weather at the moment. Like every other kid, she enjoys kicking up and messing the already messy streets with kicking up all the fallen leaves that are on the ground! She actually finds the cool weather nice, although her nose is kinda running like a marathon at the moment, but somehow, she was a kid that always loved the cold more than the hotness! ;) But this cold weather makes her even more a trying kid to get to bathe! Due to the coldness she always tries escaping bathing in the evening, even though I tried bathing her earlier than normally.

The sun now sets as early as 330pm nowadays. By 6pm in the evening, the scenario or the outside looks like as if it is in the middle of the night! And in the morning, when we go out to go to school, it looks like as if its at hmmmmm............. 7pm in Malaysia! ROFL.... the daylight days are definitely getting shorter and shorter as winter approaches at our door steps!

The only thing I really enjoyed most is that the woods is indeed a beautiful sight not to be missed. With all the trees getting bare and some ever green trees still standing tall in their greenery, the woods is a very beautiful sight to see! Especially the river bank. In the morning, bout 930am, the Duckie families will be having their regular swimming time in the river, excluding the baby ducklings of course! ;) But then, the river will be filled with their quackings and their splashing, I just enjoy watching them quietly from atop the bridge or just hidden at the river bank, taking their photos or even video recording them! This is something you can´t just find in natural back in KL!

I can´t believe that the year is ending, let alone can´t believe that we are already 11 months here in Germany. So much has changed, so much as improved and especially for my baby girl. Growing up and growing more into a "kid monster" (It´s that stage of a kid...... copying everything their peers does, pushing their luck with you and worse... the manners... OMG diminishing tremendously!!!!). Nevertheless, I still love her. And most importantly, I am proud of her! So is Sven, although sometimes he grows bananas faster than I am as he and Amelia still tries blending in together with each other. It´s a great process to watch... Amazing at times, and the both of them can really drive me up the walls at times, especially when I become sandwiched in the middle *Faints*

But I am still proud. Super duper proud! I am proud and I am extremely happy (in a big way).

Amelia and I have gotten the 2nd chance in life, and in having a complete family. I have found a man who truly loves me for who I am, irregardless of how ironic, demanding, nagging and silly I can be at times; a man who truly loves my daughter as his own kid - protecting her, caring for her, guiding her, disciplining her and most importantly LOVING her UNCONDITIONALLY; and...... a man who is willingly unconditionally without asking, sacrificing time from work / friends or even gaming to just spend time out with his family - especially on weekends!

I guess it´s a western thing? People here are more family oriented compared to the Asians I grew up with in Malaysia (and I thought Asians are more family oriented... proved me wrong!) The men here, even the ones I see on the streets, actually take the time and initiative to spend more time with their families - wives and kids - on weekends. Weekends, you´d see endless families in the woods just lazing around having picnics with their familes - playing ball with the kids, grilling etc (during summer especially) or just walking around in fun fairs and such! Here, family is always first. Even in the career world.

Sometimes...... I think mankind should just sit down with each other, and talk....... we have the wrong perception of the western people... and believe me... the western people definitely have the damn wrong perception of Asian people! Heard enough from many people to know!

But then again.... oh well..... that´s life!
Time to welcome Winter soon and just be thankful with my miniature family :)

My baby and her bestie

A day out to meet up with Audrey and Mia to get my winter jacket and boots ended up window shopping and having 2 little squealing kiddos running around Alexa like two long lost buddies finally meeting up with each other after decades of not meeting!

Was indeed really nice to see both of them being so high spirited.......

In fact...... when they saw each other ... instead of walking to each other, they ran to each other and hugged each other tightly! :-O Wasted I didn´t have my camera on hand at the time..... xD

Parents Teachers Meeting

So, today we had the first Parents Teachers Meeting with Amelia´s teacher in Kindergarten.

Was kinda amused with the way they have the Parents Teachers Meeting here in Germany. So much different from back home in Malaysia where the teachers meet the parents one by one.... here, all the parents sit together in the class room, with cookies, coffee, tea or milk or plain water while discussing about the children´s progress in class, their behaviour and etc. There is also a question and answer session whereby if the parents have any questions at all regarding to their children or the kindergarten, they are free to ask the teacher there.

Anyways........ my daughter first started kindergarten in June 2nd 2011. Right up till now, she has attended in total 3 nearly 4 months of school...... And this is the first Parents Teachers Meeting........

Her teacher´s name is Bianca. She´s really a cool lady.... big plump blond lady that is cheerful and smiley...... although most of the time I have a hard time talking to her as she doesn´t know much english and my german ain´t that fluent enough...... but I find her quite helpful and pleasant.

Anyways...........

From Bianca´s observation for the past 3 - 4 months of Amelia´s schooling days in kindergarten :

"Amelia is integrating herself very well in class. She is a very helpful girl that is willingly helping anyone in need and she is picking up German extremely well. She can blend in very well and make friends easily, although occasionally she fights - especially with one particular girl (girly fights) call Lizzy. Apparently she and Lizzy are 2 girls that can´t live without each other and can´t stand each other. Hence you´d see them constantly fighting and being close to each other. Amelia is also a 101% perfectionist which sometimes makes her classmates baffled and hence the statement "Aaawww Amelia, it´s completed" or "Hurry up Amelia". She also loves eating (apparently) as she eats 2 - 3 helpings of lunch every day in school *omg*...... And most obvious factor, she loves drawing"

One good thing.....
Thank you God for Amelia blending in to our new life just fine! Shows that we have finally.... completely.... moved on! :)

A trip to Potsdam

Saturday came and just went like the wind.......

Autumn is already upon us as the weather changes rapidly and without any warning. Sometimes, the sun shines the whole day but yet the temperature is chilly and cold. Other times, it is hot and sunny making you sweat like as if in Summer. But these hot moments are rare lately..... nowadays it´s difficult not to go out without a jacket. The weather changes so fast, sometimes, its better to be dressed for the chills than for the hot sun! *in my opinion that is*

On this particular weekend, hubby is working. Leaving only me and my cheeky adorable daughter alone for the weekend...... So, earlier in the week, I already made plans with Ley Poh to meet up during Saturday for lunch and some time together...... and also to pass her some smaller size clothes for her 1 year odd daughter and something to "tumpang" her when she goes back to Malaysia next weekend for 2 months... something to pass to my dad when she is back in KL.

Ohhh... did I miss out a fact... she lives in Potsdam (kinda like a neighbouring town in Berlin), which is like 1 hour 10 mins by train there!

The menu for lunch...... strictly and typical Chinese food and.... BAK KUT TEH!!!!! *yummies*

Been a very long time since we ate Bak Kut Teh...... and I relish and welcome that wonderful meal! *grins cheekily* Besides, Ley Poh was quite a good cook for chinese dishes ^^

We left home at approximately 945am, went to develop some photos to be sent back to my parents and then made our way to the train station...... only to stop at Gesundbrunnen and to take the train back home because silly mummy here forgotten to take something along....... and so.... making our way back home and all the way back to the train station.... had delayed our journey for like 1 hour odd... -.- *damn* getting old here hahahahahahahaha

And then there were some glitches here and there, due to the upcoming elections in Berlin, so many trains were.... "disrupted" their services.... took us slightly more than 1 hour 10 mins to even reach to Potsdam........ in the end, we had to take the Regional train just to get to Potsdam Haupbahnhof station...... -.-

By the time we arrived in Potsdam, it was already past noon, approximately bout 1230pm..... I had to call hubby via phone a couple of times thanks to the trains disruptions to ensure that there were no "riots" whatsoever and also to ask which is the next best solution to go there as the one that I know of were unavailable.. -.- But thank God, in the end, we arrived safely there, although late for lunch but at least before 1pm ^^

Potsdam town is a very nice quail and olden town where the buildings are all so in the olden times, makes you feel like as if you are walking through the 1920´s or something...... the feeling I get walking down the streets of Potsdam is like a dream come true...... where you only can see such stuff on TV (back then as a little girl growing up till now when I watch tv when in Malaysia on all the western lifestyles etc).  Amelia was so fascinated with the surroundings, the beautiful structures of the buildings and even the double decker buses here are much more ancient looking than the ones that we sat in Berlin Pankow area...

After a nice lunch and some chatting at her place, Ley Poh and her husband took both of us to the Schloss Sanssouci Park in Potsdam. Her daughter... knocked out in the stroller even before reaching our destination *haha* leaving only my daughter to run around and wander around the park....

Schloss Sanssouci Park is indeed breath taking! I have never seen such a beautiful vast park before! The summer palace was a grand sight indeed, although we didn´t walk into the palace... I prefer the outdoors and besides, admiring the structure and the surroundings of the palace ground was somewhat more interesting for me than being stuck inside the palace and looking at the interior of the place........

In fact... somehow, makes me wonder..... what will this entire place with its hundreds and hundreds acres of gardens and woods surrounding the palace look like in Spring time when all the flowers are in full bloom! *sighs* The wonders of nature!!!! And most importantly....... the entire palace and the surroudings, even mother nature, was and still is greatly taken care of by the people there!!! Something I rarely see when in Malaysia....... *ponders* Why we can´t do it back home also?! Oh well.. hahahahaha was just speculating..

There is various places to go about but we didn´t manage to walk to everywhere, just for a few spots.... Because first of it was too big the place to walk the entire place... Hahaha even Ley Poh and her husband haven´t fully covered the entire area! And secondly, Amelia herself was growing extremely tired also....... But we managed to see the Chinese Tea House that was on the palace grounds itself, although not the chance to enter and see the interiors of it.

Somehow, am hoping maybe one day we can go back there with Sven to visit... I would love to go there one more time... although definitely not during winter.... *hahaha* I feel like hibernating for the whole time during winter... judging from the cold that we are experiencing at the moment... xD But then again, there is so much more for me to experience .... especially during winter...... heck, even my daughter needs to experience see and feel so much during her first winter this year! :) Can´t disappoint my little baby can I? ^^

But it was indeed a great experience, this Saturday, it was indeed for the both of us! We traveled across Berlin to another city (entire completely.... had to buy new tickets for bus rides and such :-s ) without Sven by our side, met up and hang out with friends and.... most importantly, enjoyed ourselves thoroughly despite the changing of the weathers from extremely cold (in the morning) to burning hot (in the afternoon) and once again back to crazily cold in the late afternoon early evening!

I am sincerely thankful for Ley Poh and her husband´s hospitality throughout the whole afternoon till evening..... and even their cute adorable daughter, that was asleep most of the time when we were in Schloss Sanssouci.....

And am very happy and touched with her husband too for being so nice to take care of the kids and play with them while we ladies were just sitting on the bench and enjoyed talking and getting to know each other more..... Thank you for that kind gesture :) It´s indeed appreciated by me alot......

It´s rare to find such quality in men, especially from men from Malaysia.... ^^ No offense meant to anyone though... but majority always rules :P

Now.... I can´t wait for the Christmas markets to launch so that we can go visiting and taking more photos day and day of all the wonderful decorations that is gonna be coming up for the Christmas festivals......

*sighs*

We are indeed contented.....

Ohh...... and.... Thank you hubby...... for being so nice and cooking dinner just for me and baby when we reached back home at 7pm... *hugs*

September Starts.... Autumn fast Approaching

So...... now it´s already the month of September. It´s finally entering Autumn soon, as Autumn is fast approaching with the changes of the weather and temperature. Also, the days are growing shorter, night falls coming earlier than before. Previously, in Summer, the moon doesn´t even come or.... the sky isn´t dark at all until about 11pm. Now, the sky darkens and all earliest by 830pm. It´s getting earlier and earlier as day goes by..... Temperature is dropping and dropping even though the sun is shining ever so brightly in the sky!

It´s already 7 months now, baby and myself have been here in this foreign land and making it our new home. In this 7 months, we have learnt many things together and from each other while growing up together. My daughter is growing beautifully and remarkably wonderful, although with it comes the complication of growing up.... the temperaments of a child and etc. I love her even more than I have ever had and for me, she is still and will always be the main important part of my life!

Kindergarten is going on great and fine with her. Now, we speak mix of German and English at home as well as when we are out and about. Our German, both my daughter and myself, ain´t that good yet to even start with a full fledge German conversation but we are learning alot from each other, especially me from her as she is learning more of the basic compared to my learning in my German course.

We have moved on alot. Forgetting many things from the past, other than my parents and Uncle Dez, we rarely speak and keep in contact with people from the past and from Malaysia. For myself, occasionally those whom contact me via facebook or via my daughter´s account of facebook. But for my daughter, the only people she keeps in touch are with my family and Dezzie from time to time. Somehow it is best this way. After months of struggles, she too have finally managed to put alot of the past things and life behind and forgotten. Somehow, in a way, it is good - from my own personal point of view. Now, with our new lives, we have people in Malaysia who loves us still - aka my family, Dezzie, Baby Jo, Venice, Onny and the few others (Thank you), and we have new found family and friends here in Germany that loves us and is always around us when we need help with.

Most importantly, she has a male figure in her life guiding her now constantly - although I fear that task isn´t simple and easy for him. I never did say being a parent is easy, not with the new "dos and dont´s" and the conversion from being a bachelor to a tied figure and a father figurine. But it is good that she finally has someone that is there full time and willing to take the time to learn together with her, for that I am thankful. And for my daughter, she is extremely happy.... it is even sometimes nice to see how she is proudly showing him off to all her classmates or how she brags about him to her teachers and friends in kindergarten - from her teacher´s feedbacks.  :)

Life is about learning from each other as we grow up, grow older and older. In life we never stop learning. It´s amazing how much I am learning as a mother of 4 years nearly 5 now... and yet I am still learning. xD No wonder my father always tell me to never stop learning...... ^^

So now, as we prepare to brace ourselves to encounter our first Autumn together, from preparing clothes to buying winter shoes and clothes for the upcoming winter..... we will look forward to move on hand in had as we continue on with our journey steps.........

Selamat Hari Raya aka Happy Zuckerfest! :D

So, the fasting month has finally concluded worldwide and today worldwide, everyone is celebrating Raya - which is known as Zuckerfest here in Germany. Was kinda amused actually when I first heard that name..... cos translated, Zucker actually means sugar..... so when my lecturer first said that there wasn´t class today as it was Zuckerfest, my first thinking was....."Huh?! These people actually have a sugar day?!" Hahahahaha well, then only I found out that Zuckerfest is actually Raya for the Muslims here. :)

Anyways, today, with no class to attend, but my baby having kindergarten as usual (her kindergarten is a Christian kindergarten so no Zuckerfest holiday for her), I was invited by Audrey, one of my Malaysian friends in Germany, to attend the Buka Raya makan makan at the Malaysian Embassy today! Initially, I was kinda reluctant to go as I didn´t know where about this place is and secondly, I haven´t even been there before since setting foot into the German soil.... xD But then again, curiousity got the better of me. And believe me.... I don´t regret not going for this event! The Rendang and ketupat and such there... OMG.... reminded me so much of home..... I am seriously wondering where they managed to buy such spices down here in Germany!!!!!! The food served here is typically tasting like food back home... and not at all the German way of cooking the asian food.......

It´s not that I have anything against the people here cooking the Asian food, its just that they don´t exactly taste the same.... xD And the food served here at the embassy today.... omg..... *sighs* I officially miss the mamak and the malay rendang and such!!!!

The embassy isn´t all that grand like the embassies situated directly near the Reistag but it has it´s own elegance...... there were many Muslims (surprise surprise as it is Raya....) and fairly few chinese that turned up...... Doubt it is even the exact population of Malaysians available or living in Germany, but it feels like home being here eating these wonderfully cooked food....... and I guess I have to brush up my spoken German as they definitely speak better than I do! *ROFL*

Managed to get a few photos, although am only posting 3 of it up.......

And so....... these are the people my daughter and myself hang out with whenever we have the time to ;) *ahem ahem* we are blending in now.......... ^^

The temperature drops.....

Coming mid of August.... and so the temperature is gradually dropping...... the weather... from my wonderful blue sunny skies, the clouds are threatening our day to day lives. The wonderful tall green trees are gradually turning brown, starting from the top of the trees and slowing the whole tree. Autumn is definitely near!

The hot weather seems so short. And now the cold has returned. I wonder if it would just suddenly skipped to Winter without the signs of Autumn. Weather lately is so unpredictable.......  Baby is kinda confused now.. haha every morning before going to school, now she has to ask "Mummy, do I need to wear long or short?".... Initially, it was always as short as possible... but nowadays, every day is slightly different from yesterday. xD

Today, we detoured on our way home. Instead of walking at the woods edge, we decided to walk inside the woods and enjoy mother nature at its best ^^ I really just can´t help enjoying the wonder and beauty of the parks and woods all around here. We don´t have to go far..... situated just opposite our new apartment, this lush green world of mother nature is just within our grasp every day..... guess I will really miss it during winter this year... xD

Wonder how this place will look like in winter. Wonder how our first winter will be like in Germany? First white Christmas hopefully? Will everything be completely bare? No trees? No greens? All trees in "sleeping mode"?

Alas, for us.... it is just a mere speculation at the moment...... for we do not know what will Winter hold for us..... For now, as we daily go about our daily work and school, baby and I.... we relish the idea of relaxing ourselves after work and school in this remarkable haven that is "hidden" in the city area, surrounded by acres of large land and trees and rivers that flow gently with the flow..... And my daughter happily skipping around plucking the wild flowers while running around chasing the birds that sometimes fly to the ground for food and sometimes, even sometimes.... when we bring our stationaries...... do some drawing and writing while relaxing with the sound of the birds singing sweetly high up in the trees all around us. :)

For us..... it is our HAVEN. Away from the eyes of the world, except for the eyes of our God.

Happy Mother´s Day

Here´s wishing a very "belated" Happy Mother´s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there.... including my wonderful mum who is like 10,000 km away from me at the moment!

I hope your Mother´s Day was indeed a special event that was celebrated with your loved ones, children and husband... :)

We had our very own special mother´s day celebration by touring Alexanderplatz and then enjoying the cold cold water at the fountain for the day...... was indeed a memorable event and my daughter finally overcome her fear of the water, and even enjoyed playing in the water together with the little children.... *so long as they don´t splash water on her face or she doesn´t fall down*

It´s a good start...... that she overcome this fear... eventually I probably might even be able to teach her swimming!! :D

Baking our hearts out

Another nice sunny Sunday morning we had......

This time, we didn´t spend our time out in the woods under the sun. We did something different instead. Baking!!!!

Amelia was fascinated with baking..... as I have never done it back home after having her (And I barely touch the kitchen for many reasons) she was altogether interested in watching us baking instead of sitting in the hallway watching tv...... Was just a simple cake we baked, a simple chocolate sponge cake. It came out a success actually, and coming to a great conclusion.... we should do baking together once a month! Messing ourselves in the kitchen and all... ;) Guess I need to start researching and google up for more baking recipes via the internet! Its hard to get recipe books down here as my German is superbly low at the moment..... Would take ages before I am that a professional to start cooking or even baking via a German book! Hahahaha But then..... I just got this recipe from the chocolate milk powder box we bought for Amelia to drink ;)

So hence we decided to try it out cos it wasn´t that difficult and we managed to get all the ingredients from it at just one spot... :)

Mixing of ingredients was fast... didn´t have to take hours, just..... 30 mins before we are done... though we were sneaking taste from it occasionally.. OMG... the chocolate cream that was produced out from it is deliciously wonderful!!!!  Then..... before everything finishes, we finally put the "donut" cake into the oven to be baked for 1 hour...... Amelia was jumping happily and kept asking when is it done all the time! Hahahaha She is getting very extremely impatient to start eating the cake we started baking ^^

But... overall, the cake turned out a success.... I´m happy and satisfied about it... being able to do such stuff together as a family. It´s indeed something I always wished for....... doing things together as a family.... and not half done....

Speaking of half done.....

We had webcam with my parents today and also with my ex husband (this I was genuinely surprised). AMazingly, a lot of emotions streamed through me seeing him via webcam, and even more seeing him having tears in his eyes..... Sometimes I wished that life would be one less complicating... especially on me and my ex husband. I wonder if we would ever be able to reconcile and be friends, good friends at least .... for our daughter´s sakes. But oh well.. who am I to even ask and think of it?

Some emotions are better left closed up forever... especially when we have both moved on.... especially me. But..... I am only human...... and it´s 12 long years with many memories good and bad with him.

But I guess, like a post from a fellow friend, titled Reconciliation in Love, its something I would really wanna try doing, although its now only to be maintained as friends. Sometimes, I guess I will always forever and ever love him, like what I always told him when we were together

很久以前,我对你说过不论发生了什么事,我是会永远爱你。。。。是没骗你的。。对不起。。。你永远都是我第一个最心爱的。

The Remarkable wonders of Spring

Ahhh... the remarkable wonder of nature!

I still am so amazed and astounded with the beauty of mother nature.... I always thought mother nature was beautiful... but never have I known that it would be this extremely beautiful!

Watching the flowers and the trees starting to bloom and catching some of these fascinating shots on camera, am being absolutely lucky to be able to do so also!

With the coming of spring, one would also think that the weather would be extremely good and sunny..... but.... alright alright... we have the sun..... sometimes the sun is shining ever so brightly in the sky that you´d think you´d get scorched by it! But... the cold gentle breeze blows by and keeps you nice and cool while the sun shines ever so warmly on the skin!

And most amazingly, living in an apartment gives us the privileges of looking out our window and just watching the trees at the opposite road or somewhere further away blooming ever so greenly!

With all the colors in spring, everyone around is busy planting flowers and busy buying potted and flowery plants to plant either in their gardens or into flower pots to place it on the balcony........ Myself.... I have been very interested in starting a small gardening place, although unluckily at the moment our house doesn´t come with a balcony..... At least I would feel safer knowing baby isn´t stuck at the balcony or so ^^

But there are many advantages of having a balcony... one of it is... doing laundry at home is much simpler as we can hang our clothes up on the balcony..... at the moment, hanging it inside the house or.... over the heater to dry is so not convenient... *lolx*

Don´t get me wrong.. I am happy to have a home of our own... a place that is solely ours... no other people´s influence... no parents or in laws to interfere like back then.... Design or decide or what to do with our own home on ourselves without anyone saying what is good or what is bad.... Sometimes I wish that it was like this all the time.... maybe without my parents or his parents influencing us all the time plus his friends.... maybe, just maybe, we wouldn´t have divorced.

But... that´s all in the past... it´s already 3 years down the road.... No looking back.... *lolx* just speculating..... xD

Anyways... back to Spring time.....

I have encountered many various types of extraordinary flowers.... some that just blooms only on a specific time and some only at certain places......  For example this white flower with the yellow centre.... apparently, this is known as the Easter flower, that only blooms during Easter time! WOw..... and most of all.. it comes in many colors!!!! This is just one of the few colors that I took....

And worse of all was.... I just forgotten to bring the camera out today when I was out and about together with my daughter!!! *Careless me*

Guess I better keep my camera in my handbag then I wont forget (Though I change bags every time we go out -.-)

A little update ^o^

A little update about our life nowadays....

It´s been 1 month and 15 days since we left our only home, aka homeland, which is Malaysia and traveled 10,000km away to a new land known as Germany in the continent of Europe. We have been through alot through out this 1 1/2 months out here.. adapting not only to the harsh cold weather of winter... although there was no full fledge snow fall in Berlin, the sharp cold wind and the few snowflakes that drop from the sky, which made me come to the realization that snowflakes aren´t little white balls but they are actually star shaped stars falling from the skies! And imagine... no 2 snowflakes are of the same size star!!! Wow!!!!

Alot to take in ain´t it? ^^ I did try to take a close up photo of it early one morning when we left the house at like.... 7am in the morning to make our way to the Immigration office in Berlin...... some 1/2 hour train ride away from home..... Did you know Berlin isn´t such a small town afterall? xD there are like.... millions... or is it billions of inhabitants just in Berlin itself! Wow.......

But I love the public transportations here... they are on time and they are reliable... unlike the ones that we have back home which comes when they like and go on "strike" when they feel like it..... ^^ and.... most importantly everything is reachable via train, tram, subway or even bus!!! So no need to take a cab... let alone drive anywhere.... lolx...... Driving here is expensive. The taxes charged on driving are extremely high, although they don´t have such things as highway tolls or renewable driving licenses or even road taxes...... so I guess it´s the difference there..... though I would say, a lifetime driving license is indeed a desire much more than paying every year to renew your driving license......

We have been around few places in Berlin. I even introduced my daughter to the world of hamburgers and fast food... which she found it extremely interssting although she is still hesitating at times on the Pommes aka french fries.... but... her favourite...... Burger King fried nuggets. Extremely delicious is what she says it is... lolx... Thankfully she´s not demanding it everyday..... Another few favourites of hers..... Spagetthi and pasta... which apparently she loves eating compared to the usual rice that she has back home..... down here we have a variety of German and Italian and many other various types of food. Am still in the learning process of gathering and even cooking german food....

And finally, after 1 month, on my daughter´s 4th birthday, we finally gotten our PR. Hence, after all these things that we have gone through and after obtaining the Pr, now we have to start school for myself, school of German lessons and for Amelia kindergarden to learn and study and mix around not forgetting learning German.
We had our friends who came down to Germany to visit us sometime beginning of March, friends from Scotland.... even Daniel was down for a short 1 week visit although didnt manage to get any photos of him at all. During this short one week that our friends are down, we managed to visit Berliner Dom Chapel, The Berlin Wall (Or whatever that was left of it), Reischtag and etc..... there were many fond memories that was created while we are out and about in this whole month of March that we endured. Fond times we have together with David and Eniko, Sven, Daniel and not forgetting Thomas who came down to Berlin all the way from Tönning, Germany..... Guess you can see more of the photos of all our journey at http://pandafamilie.multiply.com.

That´s bascially where I have uploaded all my memories there, from the time my daughter was born right up to this very day.... All our happy times and last moments we had with the ones we love. Someone once told me, a photo captures moments that sometimes the heart might forget.... You know, for my case, how I wished that my heart will completely forget every single moment that has gone thru in the past. How can a person forget everything that has happened for more than 10 years in just a snap of the fingers but I cant do it?

Back to Topic...... *smacks ownself*

I know one thing I completely miss alot... having attending church, hearing the people singing hymns and God´s praises. Allthough I am not a very frequent church goer, I really miss going to church, really miss talking to God, although somehow Sven doesn´t really believe in the existence of it... ROFL... he has a scientist mind..... but he is a baptisted Protestant..... which is another thing that baffles me... why are there so many "categories" of Christianity? When the important thing is that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour?

Easter is coming up pretty soon... making me miss home... but apparently Easter is celebrated here differently...so can´t wait to see our first Easter egg hunting... lolx.....
